Our Home Our Business

We are Local Home Based Business

People like to know who they are buying from.

The great thing about Victoria Wood Studio is that we make it easy for you to get to know us.

Our studio/gallery is located in our heritage home at 2221 Fernwood Rd. in Victoria. (The corner of Fernwood and Denman).  So you will always know where to find us.

A Heritage of Fine Woodworking under our Roof

Our house was built by Icelandic immigrants in 1889.  The house is small but flows beautifully giving a feeling of spaciousness.  It was obviously built by a skilled craftsman.  The house was owned for most of its life by the Anderson family whose father was a local furniture maker.

In the eighties it was purchased by another woodworker who built a workshop in the basement. He went on to form a successful business called Vintage Woodworks which specializes in heritage restorations.

We further renovated this same workshop and it is now the home of Victoria Wood Studio with our studio/gallery located in the front of the house on the main floor.

Gates and Gardens

Like many people in Victoria we spend a lot of the year in our gardens.  It is a place for eating, working, sitting and meditating.  It rejuvenates us and inspires us.  So it is no wonder, that, when we built our first gate for our own yard, we wanted to make it something really special to reflect the beauty of our garden.  This is how the idea for our business was born.
